This Oceansouth aft sun shade with telescopic poles in navy blue is a sunshade extension for the boat's aft cockpit. It mounts in conjunction with an existing T-top, hardtop, flybridge, or wheelhouse/cabin roof and extends the covered area aft. The deployed fabric has the dimensions A 290 cm, B 290 cm, and C 260 cm.
The sun shade is supported by two stainless steel telescopic poles. The poles can be adjusted from 1.3 to 2.0 m and are inserted into the boat's existing aft-mounted fishing rod or pole holders. The adjustable height makes it possible to adapt the setup for both sitting and standing under the shade.
The solution-dyed ATLAS polyester fabric weighs 310 g/m² and has a PU coating. The fabric is waterproof, UV-resistant, and breathable, as well as resistant to chlorine, mildew, and mold. It has a water column of at least 1,500 mm and UV protection of UPF 50+, providing protection against both sun and rain.
The A-dimension is the fabric's transverse dimension, while B and C indicate the length along the aft side and bow side, respectively. The sun shade is tensioned from the existing boat roof to the telescopic poles using straps and therefore does not require a permanent, free-standing bimini frame.
The sun shade can be used deployed at anchor or while sailing at speeds of up to 20 knots. When not in use, the construction can be folded together. The set includes the sail fabric, two stainless steel telescopic poles, mounting straps, and tensioning accessories. Rod holders are not included.
