Aft sunshade with telescopic poles for T-top/hardtop from Oceansouth is a height-adjustable sunshade extension in the MA 045 series. This black MA 045-9BK variant measures 260 cm in length, 230 cm at the aft edge, and 200 cm at the forward edge. The shade extends the shaded area behind an existing T-top, hardtop, or Flying Bridge roof structure.
The construction features two stainless steel telescopic poles with an adjustable length range of 1.3–2.0 m. The poles are inserted into the boat's existing aft-mounted rod holders, while the shade is attached to the roof frame and braced with straps against aft cleats or rails. The height can be adjusted for use in both seated and standing positions.
The sunshade is made of black ATLAS Marine Grade Fabric with a surface weight of 310 g/m². The fabric consists of 100% technical polyester with a PU coating and is waterproof, UV-resistant, and breathable. It has a water column of at least 1,500 mm and UPF 50+ UV protection. The material is also resistant to tearing, abrasion, mold, and mildew.
The fabric's tensile strength is approximately 2,200 N and 1,400 N in the two material directions, while the corresponding elongation is approximately 40% and 30%. The trapezoidal design provides a width of 200 cm at the attachment to the roof and 230 cm at the free aft edge.
Installation is carried out using the included straps, fittings, and thumb screws. When the boat already has suitable rod holders and attachment points, the kit can be mounted and removed without drilling or permanent modifications. The straps are tightened until the shade stands stable at the desired height and position.
The sunshade can be used at anchor and while underway at speeds of up to 20 knots. When not in use, it can be folded and stored away. The scope of delivery consists of the sunshade canvas, 2 telescopic poles, 4 thumb screws, 4 strap/rod mounts, and short and long polyester straps for attachment and bracing.
