This stern shade with telescopic poles for T-Top/hardtop from Oceansouth is Size 3 in the T-Top Extension / Stern Shade Kit series, MA 045. The navy blue fabric measures 180 cm in length, 150 cm in aft width, and 120 cm in forward width. The trapezoidal construction extends the shaded area aft of an existing T-Top, hardtop, or other suitable roof structure.
The shade is supported by two stainless steel telescopic poles with an adjustment range of 1.3-2.0 m. The poles are inserted into two existing aft-mounted rod holders, while polyester straps secure the fabric to the roof frame and to existing aft cleats or rails. The height and tension can be adjusted to suit the installation.
The tool-free and drill-free mounting allows for the kit to be fitted and removed while the boat is in the water. The telescopic poles are placed in the rod holders first, then the forward straps are attached to the roof frame, and the long aft straps are led to cleats or rails. The straps are tightened until the fabric is positioned correctly and evenly tensioned.
The fabric is made of ATLAS marine polyester with a surface weight of 310 g/m² and a PU coating. The material is waterproof, water-repellent, UV-resistant, and breathable, as well as resistant to mold and moisture. It has a proven water column of at least 1,500 mm and a UV protection factor of UPF 50+.
The ATLAS fabric consists of 100% polyester and has a tensile strength of approximately 2,200 N and 1,400 N in the two directions of the material. The light and weather fastness is grade 6-7, while the rubbing fastness and chlorine resistance are grade 4-5. The construction can be folded away when the shade is not in use.
The shade may be used deployed at speeds of up to 20 knots. The installation requires two suitable rod holders, an attachment point on the T-Top or hardtop frame, and aft cleats or rails. Rod holders, roof structure, cleats, and rails are not included.
