This aft sunshade with telescopic poles for T-top and hardtop from Oceansouth is a detachable shade extension for the boat's aft area. The navy blue variant has a longitudinal span of 290 cm, an aft width of 260 cm, and a width of 230 cm at the roof side. The variant corresponds to model MA 045-11.
The sunshade is designed for mounting on boats with a T-top, fixed hardtop, wheelhouse, cabin roof, or Flying Bridge roof. The two telescopic poles are inserted into the boat's existing aft-mounted fishing rod holders, while the front straps are secured to suitable points on the roof or frame structure. The long aft straps are led to existing stern cleats or railings. Installation requires neither drilling nor tools.
The included telescopic poles are made of stainless steel and can be adjusted from approximately 1.3 to 2.0 m. The poles have a diameter of approximately 31.75 mm. The adjustable pole length and strap tension make it possible to adapt the height of the canopy and the tension of the fabric to the boat's layout and for sitting or standing.
The canopy is made of 310 g/m² ATLAS Marine Grade Fabric, 100% polyester with a PU coating. The material is waterproof, water-repellent, breathable, and UV-resistant, as well as resistant to tearing, abrasion, mold, and mildew. The fabric has a water column of at least 1,500 mm and UV protection of UPF 50+, measured at over UPF 80.
The ATLAS fabric has a stated tensile strength of approximately 2,200 N in one direction and 1,400 N in the other, as well as light and weather fastness of grade 6-7. The material also has a rub fastness of grade 4-5/4, chlorine resistance of grade 4-5, water repellency of grade 100, and oil repellency of grade 4.
The sunshade can be used deployed at speeds of up to 20 knots. When not in use, it can be detached, folded, and stored compactly. When measuring, the telescopic poles should be test-installed in the fishing rod holders, as the angle of the holders affects the practical longitudinal span.
