This boat cover for open boats from Oceansouth protects the boat against rain, sunlight, and weather influences during storage and road trailer transport. The semi-custom design is developed to lie smoothly around the hull and can be used on open boats, open V-hull boats, and low-profile boats.
The cover is made of 280 g/m² ATLAS polyester, in several variants with a PU coating. The material is waterproof, breathable, UV and weather-resistant, as well as resistant to mold and mildew. The water column is at least 1500 mm, and the UV protection is UPF 50+ with a measured material value above UPF 80. Reinforced, double-lapped seams and UV-resistant sewing thread contribute to long durability.
The available variants fit boat lengths from 370 to 530 cm and maximum boat widths from 170 to 225 cm. The cover dimensions range from 450 × 215 cm to 590 × 270 cm. The design provides clearance for side railings, side grab rails, side brackets, or bow rails up to 150 mm. The smallest variant does not cover any outboard motor.
Fastening is achieved via sewn-in webbing loops, hem cord, buckles, and size-appropriate straps. The included cross-transport straps on relevant variants are fed through the strap guides on the top and around the boat. When properly fitted, positioned, and tightened, the cover can be used during trailer transport. Additional straps may be recommended for longer transport.
When choosing a variant, measure the boat over the highest and most protruding points, approximately 20–30 cm below the bow, stern, and gunwale. Windshields, fittings, and folded bimini tops must be included in the measurements. A support pole can create a slope so that rainwater runs off more easily; compatible Oceansouth support poles can be used.
Clean with a soft brush, lukewarm water, and mild soap. Avoid strong or chemical cleaning agents, and allow the cover to dry completely before storage. Pad sharp parts to reduce wear.
