This front T-top sun shade from Oceansouth is a navy blue shade extension from the T-Top Bow Shade / MA 047 series. The variant measures 275 × 305 cm when unfolded and is mounted to the front of an existing T-top to provide shade over the boat's bow area.
The sun shade is made of ATLAS™ fabric, consisting of 100% high-tech polyester with a fabric weight of 220 g/m² and a PU coating. The material is waterproof, UV-resistant, and breathable. The water column pressure is at least 1,500 mm, while UV protection is rated at UPF 50+ with a measured value above UPF 80.
The wide shaded area reduces direct sun and UV exposure for people, seating, and cushions in the bow area. The sun shade can also remain mounted for extended periods to protect bow cushions from sunlight and UV damage.
The ATLAS fabric has a light and weather fastness of 6–7, a rubbing fastness of 4–5/4, and a chlorine resistance of 4–5. The tensile strength is approximately 2,200/1,400 N in the fabric's two test directions, and the documented elongation is approximately 40/30%. The fabric also features a water repellency of 100 and an oil repellency of 4.
The sun shade is designed for easy attachment to the front of a T-top and can be folded for compact storage when not in use. The boat must have suitable attachment points and sufficient space for the unfolded dimensions of 2.75 × 3.05 m.
