This front sun shade for T-top from Oceansouth measures 275 x 305 cm and extends the covered area in front of the boat's T-top. The black variant is intended for boats with an open bow area or seating in front of the console, where it provides shade for passengers and helps protect bow cushions against direct sun and UV exposure.
The sun shade is manufactured from ATLAS™ marine-grade fabric in 100% solution-dyed polyester with a material weight of 220 g/m². The fabric has a PU coating and is waterproof, UV-resistant, and breathable. The material has a water column of at least 150 mbar, equivalent to 1,500 mm, as well as UV protection of UPF 50+.
The ATLAS material has a proven light and weather fastness of grade 6-7 as well as a tensile strength of approximately 2,200 N and 1,400 N depending on the material direction. The material's water repellency is grade 100, while the chlorine resistance is grade 4-5 and oil repellency is grade 4.
The sun shade attaches to the front of the T-top and is tensioned forward towards suitable attachment points in the bow area, such as cleats, railings, or similar fittings. Before installation, the width of the T-top's front attachment area, the distance to the bow's attachment points, and the distance between these should be checked. Consideration should also be given to the console, windscreen, bow railing, anchor hatch, and navigation equipment.
When the sun shade is not in use, it can be folded for compact storage. The placement of the attachment points is important for the usable shade area, as points placed too narrowly can pull the sides of the shade inward.
