This front sun shade for T-top from Oceansouth measures 200 × 275 cm and is mounted to the front of an existing T-top. It extends the shaded area over the bow of the boat and protects bow cushions, among other things, from sun and UV exposure.
The sun shade is made of black ATLAS™ marine fabric in 100% dope-dyed polyester with a PU coating. The fabric weighs 220 g/m² and is waterproof, UV-resistant, and breathable. UV protection is rated as UPF 50+, while the measured UPF value is over 80.
The ATLAS™ fabric has a water column of at least 1,500 mm and light and weather fastness of class 6–7. The tensile strength is approximately 2,200 N and 1,400 N in the two fabric directions, and the elongation is approximately 40% and 30%. The fabric also has chlorine resistance of class 4–5, water repellency of class 100, and oil repellency of class 4.
The construction features reinforced edge tapes and attachment loops, which are used for mounting to the front of the T-top. The material is resistant to tearing and abrasion, which is relevant for repeated use in maritime environments.
The sun shade can be folded to take up less space during storage when not installed. The size 200 × 275 cm indicates the length and width of the sun shade itself.
