Grey protective cover for Lewmar Low/Medium Profile deck hatches from Oceansouth is custom-fitted for a square Lewmar hatch, size 40. The cover protects the hatch lens and frame against sunlight and general maritime weather exposure.
The cover is made of waterproof, breathable, and UV-resistant ATLAS fabric with a textile weight of 310 g/m². The breathability of the material reduces condensation buildup under the cover, while its resistance to weather, mold, and mildew makes it suitable for outdoor use in marine environments.
The elastic edge is secured around the hatch frame and supplemented by a drawcord with a toggle. The cover is positioned around the rear edge of the hatch and then stretched forward over the hatch so that the edge is held under the frame. The construction features double-stitched overlapping seams and is designed to remain in place whether the hatch is open or closed.
The variant fits the Lewmar Low Profile size 40 with a nominal external hatch dimension of 491 × 491 mm, as well as the Lewmar Medium Profile size 40 with a nominal external hatch dimension of 492 × 492 mm. The dimensions indicate the compatible hatch and are not the sewn outer dimensions of the cover itself.
Compatible hatch references include Lewmar 39940030 and 399400303 for Low Profile, and 39940020 for Medium Profile. The related Low Profile hatch can also be found under item no. 19.410.40. The cover is intended for Lewmar hatches; for hatches from other manufacturers or hatches with externally mounted hinges, a universal hatch cover should be used.
