Oceansouth MA 601-series inflatable boat covers are semi-custom protective covers for inflatable boats, dinghies, tenders, and RIBs. The series is available in several variants to suit different boat lengths and widths, with room for a round or square bow, low console, vertical transom, and in several models, a mounted outboard motor. Always check the boat's length and width over the highest points before selecting a variant.
The covers are manufactured from 100% solution-dyed ATLAS Marine Grade polyester with a PU coating and a fabric weight of 280 g/m². The material is breathable, water-resistant, UV and weather-resistant, as well as resistant to mold, mildew, saltwater, dirt, abrasion, tearing, and airborne pollutants. The water column is at least 1500 mm, and the UV protection is rated UPF 50+ with a measured value above UPF 80. The fabric is also water and oil repellent, chlorine resistant, and has a light and weather fastness of grade 6–7. The directional tensile strength is approximately 2200/1400 N.
The semi-custom bow provides a smoother fit, while the full-cut rear section provides space for an outboard motor on relevant models. Double-lapped and reinforced seams, UV-resistant thread, and anti-stretch and sagging construction ensure good durability in a marine environment. A 6 mm braided rope is encapsulated in the hem and tightened with a rope tensioner or cleat. Marine-grade rope cleats, line ends, and fastening components are included.
The cover protects against UV radiation, weather, moisture, condensation, saltwater, and dirt during standard storage, winter, and long-term storage. It can also be used during transport on a road trailer when all fasteners are correctly tightened without overtightening and checked regularly. At speeds over 60 km/h, two light-duty ratchet straps over the bow are recommended to reduce wind load. Clean with mild soap and warm water. Storage bag included.
