Oceansouth full-cover outboard motor cover for Yamaha outboard motors is a model-specific storage and transport cover that encloses the entire engine from the cowling to the lower unit and skeg. The cover is designed for outdoor storage, winter storage, and protection during trailering. It shields the engine from sun and UV radiation, rain, moisture, salt spray, dust, dirt, road debris, scratches, and flying particles. The tight, model-specific fit reduces wind impact and the risk of the cover coming loose during transport.
The ATLAS Marine Grade material consists of 100% technical, solution-dyed polyester with a PU coating and a fabric weight of 340 g/m². The fabric is breathable, water-repellent, UV-resistant, tear-resistant, and durable. Depending on the material version, the proven water column is at least 1,500 mm, the UV protection is UPF 50+ with a measured value over UPF 80, and the light and weather fastness is class 6–7. Documented tensile strength is approximately 2,200/1,400 N, with an elongation of approximately 40/30%. Some versions also feature Teflon Fabric Protector.
A soft inner felt lining protects the engine's surfaces from rubbing and scratches. An elastic hem, potential Twin Rope Cleat tightening, and heavy-duty size #10 marine zipper ensure a stable fit around the motor bracket and skeg. Double-stitched or reinforced seams increase durability.
This is a storage cover and not a ventilated operational cover. It must therefore not be left on during engine operation or sailing, but it can be mounted over a compatible cowling or ventilated cover. Clean with a soft brush, lukewarm water, and mild soap. Avoid bleach, harsh detergents, and chemicals. Air-dry the cover completely before packing it away.
