Oceansouth vented outboard motor cover for Honda is a white, model-specific cowling cover for Honda BF175, BF200, BF225 and BF250 V6 3.6L models from 2019 onwards. The cover follows the shape of the cowling and protects it during outdoor storage, engine operation and while underway. It covers the cowling and is not a full-length cover for the entire outboard motor.
The vented design features precise cutouts around the engine's air vents, cowling contours, and controls such as tilt/trim buttons. Airflow to the engine's normal intake and ventilation areas is maintained, allowing the cover to remain in place while the engine is running. The cover is fitted as a slip-on and is secured with an elastic hem and a dual Twin Toggle/Twin Rope Cleat system.
The cover is made from Atlas marine-grade polyester canvas in the Silver Soft Range. The fabric consists of 100% technical polyester, weighs 340 g/m² and has a PU coating. The material is breathable, UV-resistant and water-resistant with a proven water column of at least 1,500 mm. The UV protection is UPF 50+, and the fabric’s measured value is over UPF 80.
Double stitching and reinforced seams contribute to a robust construction. The soft felt lining on the inside protects the cowling’s surface from scratches and scuffs. The cover also provides protection against sunlight, water, weather, salt spray, dirt and debris. The breathable fabric and custom ventilation openings help limit moisture buildup around the cowling.
The Atlas fabric has a proven tensile strength of approximately 2,200 N and 1,400 N in the two directions of the fabric, with an elongation of approximately 40% and 30%. Light and weather fastness is grade 6–7, chlorine resistance grade 4–5, water repellency grade 100, and oil repellency grade 4.
Clean the cover with a soft brush and lukewarm water. Mild soapy water can be used for general dirt, while aggressive chemicals and strong detergents should be avoided as they may damage the UV coating. Let the cover air dry, and ensure it is clean and completely dry before long-term storage.
