A square hatch cover from Oceansouth's Universal Hatch Covers range for exterior protection of square deck hatches. This blue MA 400-5 variant measures 580 × 580 mm and protects the hatch from UV exposure and weathering.
The cover is made from ATLAS Golden Range marine canvas, consisting of 100% solution-dyed polyester with a PU coating. The material is UV-resistant, breathable, and water-repellent. The breathable construction reduces condensation under the cover, while the UV protection is rated at UPF 50+ and measured at over UPF 80.
The ATLAS fabric has a water column of at least 150 mbar, equivalent to 1500 mm, as well as a light and weather fastness rating of 6–7. The tensile strength of the material is approximately 2200 N and 1400 N in the two material directions, while the specified elongation is approximately 40% and 30%. The fabric also has proven resistance to water, oil, and chlorine.
The cover is installed without screws or drilling. A wraparound drawstring is tightened around the hatch and locked with a Sure-lock cord lock. The wind-resistant fastening system keeps the cover in place, and the design allows it to remain on the hatch whether it is open or closed.
The model is universally designed for square deck hatches and is not tied to a specific hatch manufacturer or hatch series. The dimensions of 580 × 580 mm are the external product dimensions of the cover and not an installation or cutout dimension.
