Oceansouth square deck hatch cover in size 330 × 330 mm protects square deck hatches on sailboats and yachts against UV exposure and weathering. The cover is model MA 400-2 in the MA 400 / Universal Hatch Covers series.
The cover is made of blue ATLAS Golden Range marine fabric in 100% solution-dyed polyester with a PU coating and a fabric weight of 400 g/m². The material is UV-protective and has UPF 50+ with a measured protection of over UPF 80. The fabric's water column is at least 1500 mm, but this material value is not in itself documentation that the complete cover is waterproof under all conditions.
The breathable construction reduces the build-up of condensation around the hatch. The cover is fastened with a drawcord along the entire perimeter and a lockable cord lock, which forms a windproof fastening system. The design allows the cover to remain in place around the hatch when it is opened and closed.

The ATLAS fabric has a light and weather fastness of grade 6–7, chlorine resistance of grade 4–5, water repellency of grade 100, and oil repellency of grade 4. The fabric's tensile strength is approximately 2200 N and 1400 N in the two material directions, with an elongation of approximately 40% and 30%.
