This model-specific outboard motor hood cover from Oceansouth is custom-fitted for select Evinrude and E-TEC outboard motors. The various versions are tailored to the engine series, cylinder configuration, displacement, power, and model year, protecting the motor hood during outdoor storage, winter storage, while docked, and during trailer transport.
The contoured slip-on fit follows the shape of the motor hood, reduces wind drag, and lowers the risk of the cover loosening during transport. An elasticized bottom hem and a Twin Rope Cleat fastener secure the cover around the lower part of the motor hood. The cover protects the hood but not the midsection or propeller.
The cover is made of ATLAS Marine Grade fabric, featuring 100% technical or dope-dyed polyester with a fabric weight of 340 g/m² and a PU coating. The material is water-resistant, breathable, tear- and abrasion-resistant, and UV-resistant. It has a water column of at least 1,500 mm, UV protection of UPF 50+, and a measured UV rating above UPF 80. The fabric provides protection against the sun, water, weather, sea spray, dust, dirt, and road grime.
The soft felt lining helps protect the motor hood surface from scratches and marks. Double-stitched, reinforced seams increase durability during installation, storage, and transport. This is a non-vented storage model that must only be used when the engine is off and should not be left on the engine while sailing or operating the motor.
