Oceansouth model-specific outboard covers for Yamaha outboard motors are custom-fitted storage covers that protect the upper surfaces of the motor cowl and engine head against sun, UV radiation, rain, moisture, salt spray, dust, dirt, scratches, and minor transport damage. The individual variants are developed for the Yamaha F25D, F30B, F40F, F50H, F60F, F70A, F115B, F130A, F150D, F175A, F200F, F225F, F250D, F300B, and F350A, as well as their corresponding model years and engine configurations.
The model-specific fit follows the contours of the motor cowl, providing a tighter fit than universal covers. The cover covers the upper motor hood or cowling and not the engine leg, gear housing, or propeller. It is intended for outdoor storage, winter storage, and properly secured transport on a trailer. The non-ventilated construction must only be used when the engine is turned off, and the cover must be removed before engine operation or sailing.
The cover is made of 340 g/m² ATLAS Marine Grade fabric in 100% polyester with a PU coating. The material is water-resistant, breathable, tear-resistant, and UV-resistant. It has a water column of at least 1,500 mm, UV protection of UPF 50+ with a measured value above UPF 80, light and weather fastness of grade 6-7, tensile strength of approximately 2,200/1,400 N, elongation of approximately 40/30%, chlorine resistance of grade 4-5, water repellency of grade 100, and oil repellency of grade 4.
An elastic hem or lower edge follows the bottom contour of the motor cowl, while a Twin Rope Cleat, line cleat, drawstring, or buckle closure secures the cover and reduces wind flapping. Selected variants feature soft felt lining as well as double-stitched and reinforced seams that protect the surface from scratches and increase durability.
Always verify the exact engine model, model year, displacement, and compatibility before purchasing. Clean with a soft brush, lukewarm water, and mild soap if necessary. Avoid harsh or chemical cleaning agents, and let the cover air dry completely before long-term storage.
