This Oceansouth rectangular hatch cover, model MA400-10, is an external protective cover for rectangular boat, yacht, and deck hatches. The cover is blue and has external dimensions of 520 x 400 mm.
The cover is made of ATLAS Golden Range marine canvas in 100% solution-dyed polyester with a fabric weight of 400 g/m². The fabric features a PU coating and a Teflon-based protective finish. The material is water-repellent and has a proven water column of at least 1500 mm.
The breathable fabric reduces the accumulation of condensation around the hatch. The material contains UV inhibitors and has a UV protection factor of UPF 50+, measured at over UPF 80. Light and weather fastness is rated at grade 6-7, while chlorine resistance is grade 4-5.
The cover is secured with a wrap-around drawcord and locking toggle, which holds it firmly around the closed hatch. The construction is also designed to allow the cover to remain in place when the hatch is opened.
The ATLAS fabric has a tensile strength of approximately 2200 N and 1400 N in the two fabric directions, as well as an elongation of approximately 40% and 30%. Water repellency is rated at grade 100 and oil repellency at grade 4.
