This Oceansouth sailboat sun shade measures 360 × 420 cm and is designed for sun protection over the boom and cockpit area. The large coverage area provides shade when the boat is moored, and the construction is adapted to the sailboat's rig.
The sun shade is placed over the boom and features a 120 cm wide central opening at the rear, allowing it to be positioned around the topping lift. The opening is closed with Velcro and secured with a buckle. The included attachment straps are used for fixing to the mast, backstay, and railing.
The canopy is made of ATLAS fabric, which is 100% solution-dyed polyester with a PU coating and a surface weight of 280 g/m². The fabric has a UV and light fastness grade of 6-7 as well as a UV protection factor of UPF 50+, making the material suitable for long-term sun protection in maritime environments.
The PU-coated construction has a documented water column of at least 150 mbar, equivalent to 1500 mm. The fabric's tensile strength is approximately 2200 N and 1400 N in the two fabric directions, while the corresponding elongation is approximately 40% and 30%. The sun shade is grey.
The model corresponds to the manufacturer variant MA 402-3 in the Sailboat Awnings series. Before installation, it should be verified that the boat's boom, topping lift, and attachment points are compatible with the dimensions and mounting principle of the sun shade.
