This T-Top Sun Shade Extension with telescopic poles from Oceansouth is a detachable shade extension for an existing T-Top, hardtop, or flying bridge roof. The black MA 045-7 variant features a trapezoidal sail with a length of 260 cm, a stern width of 200 cm, and a bow width of 170 cm.
The system uses two stainless steel telescopic poles that are inserted into the boat's existing rod holders. The poles can be adjusted from 1.3 to 2.0 m, allowing the height of the sail to be adapted for sitting or standing. The sail is tensioned against the existing T-Top or roof frame with straps, while the aft straps are secured to suitable stern cleats or the railing.
The sun shade is made of black ATLAS Marine Grade Fabric in 100% polyester with a PU coating and a surface weight of 310 g/m². The fabric is waterproof, breathable, and UV-resistant with UPF 50+ and a measured UV protection of over UPF 80. The material has a proven water column of at least 1,500 mm and is also resistant to mold and mildew.
The detachable design can be mounted and removed on the water without drilling or tools during normal installation. When not in use, the system can be folded and disassembled to save space during storage.
The sun shade extension can be used deployed while anchored or while cruising at speeds of up to 20 knots. Suitability for an individual boat depends on the position and angle of the rod holders as well as available attachment points on the roof frame, stern cleats, or railing.
