This T-Top Sun Shade Extension with telescopic poles from Oceansouth extends the shaded area aft of the boat's existing T-Top, hardtop, or Flying Bridge roof. The black MA045-5BK variant has a length of 210 cm, a maximum aft width of 210 cm, and a minimum forward width of 150 cm.
The sun shade is installed using two stainless steel telescopic poles, which are placed in the boat's existing fishing rod holders. The poles can be adjusted from 1.3 to 2.0 m, allowing the height to be adapted for sitting or standing. The front straps are attached to the T-Top or roof frame, while the rear straps are tensioned against stern cleats or railings.
Installation requires neither drilling nor tools, and the sun shade can be mounted and dismounted while the boat is in the water. The construction can be folded away when not in use. The kit consists of a fabric shade, two stainless steel telescopic poles, and polyester straps with buckles. Fishing rod holders, cleats, railings, and existing roof structures are not included.
The shade is made of 310 g/m² ATLAS marine fabric in 100% polyester with a PU coating. The fabric is waterproof with a water column of at least 1,500 mm, breathable, and UV-resistant. It has UPF 50+ and is also resistant to mold and mildew. The proven tensile strength is approximately 2,200/1,400 N in the two directions of the fabric.
The sun shade may be used deployed at speeds up to 20 knots. Before sailing, straps, poles, stitching, and the boat's mounting points must be checked, and the shade must be properly tensioned. Avoid contact with sharp or rough edges that could damage the fabric.
After use, especially in saltwater, the fabric and fittings should be rinsed with fresh water. Let the shade dry completely before folding it up and storing it in a dry place.
