This universal Oceansouth outboard motor hood and cowling cover protects the upper part of the engine against sun, UV radiation, water, dust, dirt, and general weathering during storage, downtime, transport, and trailering. The cover fits both 2-stroke and 4-stroke outboard motors and does not cover the motor leg, gear housing, propeller, or the rest of the motor mounting bracket.
The cover is made of 100% woven, solution-dyed marine-grade ATLAS polyester with a fabric weight of 340 g/m² and a PU coating. The material is UV-treated, water-repellent, and has a proven water column of at least 1,500 mm as well as UV protection of UPF 50+ with a measured value above UPF 80. The ATLAS fabric has a light and weather fastness of grade 6–7, chlorine resistance of grade 4–5, water repellency of grade 100, and oil repellency of grade 4. The stated tensile strength is approximately 2,200/1,400 N with an elongation of approximately 40/30% in the two directions of the material.
The soft felt- or fleece-like interior reduces the risk of marks and scratches on the motor's paintwork. Reinforced, top-stitched, and sealed seams contribute to a robust construction, while an adjustable drawcord around the bottom edge keeps the cover tight against the engine cowling. The design is non-ventilated.
Choose the variant according to the actual dimensions and shape of the engine hood. The indicative power ratings include 2–4 hp, 5–15 hp, 15–30 hp, 30–60 hp, 60–100 hp, 115–150 hp, and 175–250 hp. The nominal dimensions are 40 × 24 × 27 cm, 52 × 27 × 32 cm, 56 × 30 × 40 cm, 62 × 36 × 49 cm, 68 × 40 × 53 cm, 74 × 46 × 58 cm, and 82 × 50 × 60 cm, respectively.
