This model-specific motor cover from Oceansouth is a white, vented cover for the cowling of Mercury V6 3.4L outboards with 175–225 hp from model year 2018 onwards. The cover protects the cowling during outdoor storage and can remain fitted during engine operation and sailing.
The snug, form-fitted design follows the contours of the cowling, reducing wind drag and the risk of the cover coming loose. Precise cutouts around the engine's air vents and controls ensure the necessary access and airflow, while integrated mesh vents support engine operation.
The cover is made of 340 g/m² ATLAS Marine Grade 100% polyester fabric with a PU coating. The fabric is breathable, UV-resistant, and water-repellent with a proven water column of at least 1,500 mm. The UV protection is UPF 50+, and the material's light and weather fastness is rated at 6–7.
On the inside, a soft felt lining protects the cowling's surface against scratches and scuffs. Double-stitched, reinforced seams, a marine-grade elastic hem, and a double rope cleat contribute to a stable fit. The cover is pulled directly over the cowling without the need for a separate mounting kit.
Clean the cover with a soft brush, lukewarm water, and mild soap if necessary. Avoid strong detergents and chemical cleaners, which can damage the UV treatment. The cover should air dry and be completely clean and dry before long-term storage.
