This Oceansouth model-specific outboard motor cover for Evinrude is a ventilated version for the Evinrude G2 V6 2.7L 150, 175, and 200 hp as well as the 150 H.O. from 2016. The cover is shaped to the contours of the outboard cowl and can remain on the motor during operation and navigation.
The integrated ventilation panels ensure airflow while the motor is running. Model-specific cutouts account for the motor's air intake, contours, and operating details such as tilt and trim buttons. The cover is therefore not a universal motor cover.
The cover is made of tear-resistant Atlas Marine Grade polyester fabric with a fabric weight of 340 g/m². The material is UV-resistant, breathable, and highly water-resistant, protecting the cowl from sun, salt spray, weather, dirt, dust, scratches, and debris. The soft felt lining on the inside reduces the risk of scratches and scuffs on the cowl.
Double-stitched, reinforced seams contribute to a robust construction. The cover is pulled directly over the cowl, after which the elasticized marine-grade hem and the double drawstring lock ensure a tight and secure fit without permanent mounting.
The ventilated construction can also be used for outdoor storage, but the cover only protects the cowl. If the entire outboard motor, including the leg and gear housing, needs to be protected during transport or long-term storage, a compatible full-length cover is required.
