Oceansouth vented outboard motor cover for Evinrude outboard motors is a form-fitted and model-specific cover designed to protect the motor cowling during navigation, engine operation, and outdoor storage. The snug fit follows the contours of the cowling and reduces wind flap, loose fabric, and exposure to sun, water, salt spray, dirt, dust, and minor surface wear.
Integrated mesh vents and model-specific cutouts around air intakes and tilt/trim switches ensure airflow and access to essential functions. The vented cover can therefore remain in place while the engine is running and during navigation, and can also be used under a compatible full-length cover. The cover protects the motor cowling but does not cover the midsection, gearcase, or propeller.
The material is ATLAS Marine Grade polyester canvas with a fabric weight of 340 g/m², PU coating, water-repellent or water-resistant surface, breathable construction, and UV protection of UPF 50+. The fabric has a water column of at least 1,500 mm and is developed to withstand wear and tear. A soft felt lining protects the surface against scratches and scuffs, while the elasticized marine hem, dual-buckle system or rope clamp, and double-stitched reinforced seams ensure a stable and durable fit.
The variant fit must be selected based on engine series, number of cylinders, motor cowling, horsepower variant, and model year – not based solely on the engine's horsepower rating. Documented compatibilities include Evinrude E-TEC 2-cylinder 40–60 hp engines from 2003, 3-cylinder 60 H.O.–90 hp engines from 2003, V4 90 H.O.–130 hp engines from 2005, V6 150–200 hp engines from 2004, E-TEC V6 200–300 hp engines from 2005–2016, and G2 V6 200–300 hp engines from 2014.
Clean with a soft brush, lukewarm water, and mild soap if necessary. Avoid harsh detergents, solvents, chemical cleaners, and abrasive cleaning agents. Air dry the cover and ensure it is clean and completely dry before long-term storage.
