Oceansouth Waverider telescopic boat seat pedestal with shock absorber and recessed flat base is a height-adjustable and swivel boat seat mount. Model MA 776-1 can be adjusted from 310 to 390 mm and combines gas-spring-operated height adjustment with built-in shock absorption.
The shock absorption system reduces the impact from the boat's movements and pounding against waves. The seat plate can be rotated 360°, while the swivel resistance is adjusted using the side handle. The top can also be locked in the desired position.
The telescopic pedestal sections are made of anodized aluminum and have diameters of 75 and 65 mm, respectively. The seat mount is made of nylon/fiberglass and has universal mounting holes. The mount is approximately 178 mm wide and can be adapted to all Oceansouth boat seats as well as many boat seats from other brands with a suitable hole pattern.
The pedestal is mounted in a flat, recessed base with an outer diameter of 228 mm and six fastening points. Mounting requires a deck hole of approximately Ø 127 mm and an insertion depth of approximately 61 mm. The base rises approximately 30.5 mm above the deck. The pedestal can be removed from the base when deck space needs to be cleared or the seat needs to be stored.
The set includes a swivel seat mount, telescopic pedestal, flat recessed mounting base, and a round nylon cap to cover the base when the pedestal is removed. During assembly, the operating handle is inserted through the side of the top bracket and secured with the top bolt. The bolt must not be overtightened, as this may affect the gas release function.
An additional plug-in base with item no. 48.707.20 can be used with this seat pedestal. Oceansouth base 21070 is also listed as a separate base for the MA 776 series.
