This Oceansouth Waverider telescopic seat pedestal, model MA 776-3, is a height-adjustable and shock-absorbing pedestal for mounting boat seats. The height can be gas-assisted adjusted from 520 to 650 mm, allowing the seating position to be adapted to the user and conditions on board.
An internal shock absorber absorbs loads from the boat's movement in waves and reduces direct impacts transferred to the seat. The seat mount can rotate 360°, while the rotation resistance can be adjusted and the rotation function locked with the side handle.
The pedestal consists of anodized aluminum tubes with a diameter of Ø75/65 mm. The seat mount is manufactured from glass fiber-reinforced nylon and features universal drill holes for Oceansouth boat seats as well as many other common light-to-medium-duty boat seats, provided the seat's hole pattern matches the universal bracket. The seat mount measures a maximum of 177 × 170 mm and has an internal mounting dimension of 130 × 130 mm.
The flat socket base is mounted flush into the deck and has six mounting holes on a Ø203 mm bolt circle. The holes are Ø8.5 mm. The nominal diameter of the base is Ø228 mm, while the detailed drawing dimension is Ø230 mm. The drawing also shows 33 mm above the deck, 61.3 mm installation depth, and Ø125.1 mm for the bottom installation part.
The pedestal can be lifted out of the base when the seat needs to be removed and deck space cleared. The documented extra mounting base, item no. 48.707.20, can be used if the pedestal needs to be moved between multiple mounting locations. The delivery includes the seat mount, telescopic pedestal, flat base, and deck cover for the empty base.
The side handle is mounted using the included Allen key. The bolt must not be overtightened, as this may affect the gas release function. Always check the physically delivered base and its hole placement before cutting or drilling into the deck.
