This manual-to-electric marine toilet conversion kit replaces the existing manual pump unit with a complete electric flush and macerator unit. The kit operates at 12 V DC and allows you to retain the toilet bowl, seat, and the existing inlet and outlet hoses.
The unit features two electric pumps. The self-priming flush pump supplies flush water to the bowl, while the separate waste pump with a built-in macerator grinds and discharges the waste. The controls allow for either simultaneous flushing and emptying or emptying without additional flush water, enabling the water level in the bowl to be regulated.
The flow rate is 18.9 l/min, and the self-priming lift is up to 0.6 m. The connections are 19 mm (3/4") on the inlet and 38 mm (1 1/2") on the outlet. The flush pump inlet is intended for a seawater-based system via a seacock and must not be connected to a pressurized freshwater system. The Pumpguard filter should be installed in the inlet hose in an accessible location so it can be inspected and cleaned.
The kit can be installed both above and below the waterline. For installation below the waterline, the outlet must be routed through a vented anti-siphon loop, which must be placed at least 200 mm above the waterline under all heel and trim conditions. The outlet loop can be routed up to 1.8 m above the toilet base. If the toilet base is above the waterline, the inlet hose should be no more than 3 m long to ensure reliable self-priming.
The product measures 260 × 90 × 150 mm and is supplied with a leveling gasket for adjustment to various toilet bowls. It is verified for the Jabsco toilet with part no. 50.224.00 as well as older models and for toilet systems from Matromarine, Johnson Pump, and Ocean Technologies. It is also specified for toilets with part no. 50.206.25, 50.207.25, 50.207.27, 50.207.50, 50.217.25, and 50.217.30.
The electrical installation must be carried out with correct polarity and a fuse in the positive wire no more than 170 mm from the battery. The catalog specification indicates a 20 A fuse; always check the nameplate, the included fuse, and the actual installation manual before sizing cables and fuses. For total round-trip length, 12 AWG is specified at 0–10 ft, 10 AWG at 10–15 ft, 8 AWG at 15–25 ft, 6 AWG at 25–40 ft, and 4 AWG at 40–60 ft.
The pumps require water for lubrication and must not be run dry during normal operation. If no flush water appears within 10 seconds of startup, the unit must be stopped and the flush pump primed. Seacocks must be closed when the toilet is not in use. For winterization, drain the system; if using antifreeze, it must be glycol-based. The original manual pump and associated parts can advantageously be stored on board so the toilet can be converted back to manual operation in case of power failure.
