Bearing and steering compass is a magnetic marine compass for both taking bearings and steering a course. It is particularly suitable for inflatables, dinghies, and small boats.
The compass features a dual scale with degrees and compass points, as well as an integrated magnifying glass that makes the scale easier to read. The design of the scale allows for estimation of 1°, although this does not indicate a measurement tolerance of ±1°.
The kerosene liquid damping contributes to a stable compass reading. The compass is also designed for clear night reading and has a side scale.
