The magnetic door stop is a two-part system in AISI 316 stainless steel that holds a door in the open position. The flush-mounted design consists of a magnet block on the door and a floor block with an automatically retractable stop plate.
The magnet is positioned at an 18° angle. As the door approaches the floor block, the magnet lifts the movable plate and engages the door stop. When the door is moved away, the plate automatically returns to its flat, recessed position so it does not act as a protruding obstacle in the walkway.
The system is equipped with shock and vibration-absorbing gaskets. A 2 mm and a 4 mm spacer are also included, which allow for adjustment of the floor block height. The door stop is designed for installations with a 4–10 mm clearance between the bottom of the door and the floor or deck.
The technical drawing shows a component view with a total dimension of 56 mm, a central width of 40 mm, a height of 37 mm, and a protrusion of 15.22 mm. The floor block footprint is specified as 40 × 32.16 mm, while the height in the closed position is 6.3 mm. The movable plate stands at a 72° angle in the activated position, where the raised dimension is specified as 32.60 mm.
The stainless steel construction and the flush resting position make the door stop suitable for marine installations and other locations where a permanently raised floor stop is undesirable. The product is designed as a patented utility model.
