This Polastorm Megara 3-blade duplex stainless steel propeller has a diameter of 10½″ and a pitch of 13″. It is designed for outboards with a 3¼″ gearcase and belongs to a 25–70 hp engine group. The propeller geometry follows the Mercury Profile and is recommended for selected engines from Mercury, Honda, and Tohatsu.
The propeller is manufactured from high-chromium duplex stainless steel, which provides high corrosion resistance. The material is specified according to ASTM A890 Grade 4A. The APC casting technology, Aerospace Precision Casting, provides high material density and physical strength.
The propeller is supplied without a motor-specific hub and shock-absorbing hub insert. Installation therefore requires a separate hub kit, which is selected based on the engine make, model, year, gearcase, and propeller shaft. Since splines are a feature of the chosen hub kit, the propeller itself does not have a fixed motor-specific number of splines.
Compatible hub kits
For selected Mercury, Mariner, and Force engines, hub kit 52.580.01 is used for a 3¼″ gearcase and 13 splines. Documented applications include, among others, Mercury 25–70 hp in specified model and year ranges, as well as selected Force engines of 40–75 hp.
For Honda, hub kit 52.583.01 is used for a 3¼″ gearcase and 13 splines. This includes BF35 from 1991–1994, BF40 from 1995 onwards, BF45 from 1991–1994, BF50/BF50A from 1995 onwards, and BF60 from 2010 onwards.
For Tohatsu and Nissan, hub kit 52.585.01 is used for a 3¼″ gearcase and 13 splines. This includes 35B with the relevant year limitation, 40 hp from 1984 onwards, and 50 hp, excluding 50C, from 1992 onwards. The hub kits include a shock-absorbing hub insert, thrust washer, front washer, spacer, and nut.
