This Polastorm Megara 3-blade stainless steel propeller is a right-hand rotation propeller for outboard motors. This variant has a diameter of 10 3/4″ and a pitch of 12″. It is supplied as a propeller unit without a central hub and therefore requires a separate, engine-specific hub kit.
The propeller is manufactured from ASTM A890 Grade 4A duplex stainless steel and features a polished finish. The high chromium content contributes to high corrosion resistance, while the APC casting technique – Aerospace Precision Casting – provides high material density and physical strength. The material's tensile strength is up to 750 MPa after heat treatment.
The Megara series combines three blades, a relatively small diameter, high rake, and a spiral exhaust duct. The design is developed with a focus on acceleration and bow lift, making the series suitable as an all-round propeller.
The propeller has a Mercury profile and is recommended for Mercury, Honda, and Tohatsu engines in the relevant 3 1/4″ gearcase group. The profile designation describes the propeller's geometry and does not mean that it is an original Mercury propeller. The overall engine group is 25–70 hp, but the correct hub kit must be selected based on engine make, power output, shaft, and gearcase.
For Mercury 25–70 hp, hub kit F11, item no. 52.580.01, is used. For Honda 35–60 hp, F14, item no. 52.583.01 is used, and for Tohatsu/Nissan 35–50 hp, F15, item no. 52.585.01 is used. These hub kits are intended for a 3 1/4″ gearcase and a 13-spline drive shaft. The spline count applies to the hub kit and not the loose propeller unit. The hub kits include shock/break protection, thrust washer, forward washer, spacer, and nut.
