This Polastorm Saltist stainless steel propeller is a 3-blade, left-hand rotation boat propeller with a diameter of 14 3/4" and a pitch of 17". This variant is designed for a 4 3/4" gearcase and is recommended for the 200–250 hp engine range.
The propeller utilizes a separate, interchangeable hub system. The hub kit is not included and must be selected based on the specific engine, including engine make, gearcase, propeller shaft, and number of splines. This allows the propeller to be adapted to different engine installations using the correct engine-specific hub kit.
The propeller is manufactured from duplex stainless steel according to ASTM A890-4A. The alloy has a stated tensile strength of 680 MPa, a yield strength of 450 MPa, an elongation of 25%, and a hardness of 26 HRC. The high chromium content contributes to corrosion resistance in maritime environments.
Manufacturing is performed using APC precision casting, and the stainless propeller construction subsequently undergoes solution heat treatment. This combination supports a dense and strong casting with precise shaping of the three propeller blades.
The Saltist variant is comparable to the Solas Rubex HR3 and Solas HR Titan. This indicates the propeller series and application class but does not replace the verification of the required hub kit and specific engine installation. The left-hand rotation is intended for installations where a left-hand or counter-rotating propeller is required.
