This Polastorm Saltist stainless steel propeller is a 3-blade marine propeller with a diameter of 14 1/2" and a pitch of 21". This variant is intended for larger outboard motors with a 4 3/4" gearcase and is recommended for engines in the 200–250 HP class.
The propeller is manufactured from ASTM A890-4A duplex stainless steel using APC (Aerospace Precision Casting). The manufacturing method is designed to provide high material density and physical strength, while the high chromium content of the duplex steel contributes to improved corrosion resistance.
The Saltist model utilizes an interchangeable central hub and shock absorber. The hub is not included, and the propeller must therefore be combined with a separate engine-specific Polastorm hub kit. The correct hub kit is selected based on engine make, engine model, year, number of propeller shaft splines, and gearcase size.
Relevant hub kit references for the 4 3/4" system include F21 (52.580.02), F23 (52.581.03), F28 (52.582.06), F29 (52.583.02), and F42 (52.586.01). The individual kits have different engine and shaft compatibility and must not be selected based solely on gearcase size.
The propeller profile is comparable to the Solas Rubex HR3 and Solas HR Titan. The overall product group covers engines from 115 HP and up, while this 14 1/2 x 21" variant is specifically recommended for 200–250 HP. Final fitment always depends on the correct hub kit as well as the engine's gearcase, shaft, model, and year.
