This Polastorm Soltiga 3 duplex stainless steel propeller is a 3-blade, left-hand rotation propeller with a diameter of 15 1/2″ and a pitch of 17″. It is designed for outboard motors and sterndrives with a 4 3/4″ gearcase, where the propeller size and left-hand rotation are suitable for the specific installation.
The propeller is manufactured from ASTM A890-A4 duplex stainless steel with a polished finish. The high chromium content contributes to the material's corrosion resistance, while the APC manufacturing process, Aerospace Precision Casting, provides high material density and physical strength.
The Soltiga 3 design combines large blade surface area, large diameter, and a deep blade profile. The geometry is developed for powerful thrust at low RPM, smooth acceleration, quick planing, and responsive maneuvering on boats with a high power-to-weight ratio.
The propeller uses an interchangeable, engine-specific hub system and is supplied without a hub kit and shock-absorbing bushing. The required hub kit must be ordered separately based on engine make, model, year, shaft diameter, and spline count. The spline count is therefore not a fixed attribute of the propeller body itself.
The series is positioned for engines from 115 hp and up with a 4 3/4″ gearcase. This propeller group is recommended for Suzuki 175–225 hp and for all engine brands from 250 hp and up, provided that the correct hub kit and propeller dimension are chosen. The left-hand rotation can, among other uses, be used as counter-rotation in a suitable twin installation.
The manufacturer part number is 5586-3155-17. Solas Lexor and Solas Rubex L3 are listed as equivalent propeller series. Cross-reference numbers include EMP P9572-1550-17, Mercury 48-90159A46, Solas 9572-155-17, Turning Point 31511720, and Michigan 993033; engine application, hub system, and rotation must still be checked separately.
