This Polastorm Soltiga 3 stainless steel propeller is a 3-blade, right-hand rotation boat propeller with a 15 1/2″ diameter and a 17″ pitch. It is designed for high-horsepower boats with a 4 3/4″ gearcase and uses an interchangeable, engine-specific hub system.
The propeller is manufactured from ASTM A890-4A duplex stainless steel. The high chromium content contributes to the material's corrosion resistance, while the APC manufacturing method – Aerospace Precision Casting – provides high material density and physical strength.
The 15 1/2″ diameter corresponds to 393.7 mm, while the 17″ pitch corresponds to 431.8 mm. The propeller is right-hand rotating and developed for a 4 3/4″ gearcase, corresponding to approximately 120.7 mm. The profile is comparable to the Solas Lexor and Solas Rubex L3.
The Soltiga 3 series is recommended for 175/225 hp Suzuki engines as well as engines from other brands from 250 hp and up. The recommendation assumes that the gearcase, propeller shaft, and selected hub kit are compatible with the specific engine.
Installation and hub kit
The propeller is supplied without a hub and therefore requires a separate engine-specific hub kit. For Suzuki DT150–225 hp, 2-stroke from 1986, as well as Suzuki DF150–300 hp, 4-stroke, hub kit F28 with item no. 52.582.06 can be used for 4 3/4″ gearcase and 15 splines. The hub system includes a hub insert, thrust washer, front washer, spacer, and nut.
Other documented hub options for the system include item no. 52.580.02 and 52.580.03 for selected Mercury engines and drives, 52.581.03 for Yamaha 150–300 hp, and 52.583.02 for Tohatsu/Nissan 115–250 hp. The correct hub kit must always be selected based on engine make, model, power, year, gearcase, and propeller shaft spline count.
