This Polastorm Star propeller in duplex stainless steel is a 3-blade, left-hand rotation propeller for outboard motors. This variant has a diameter of 13 1/4″, a pitch of 17″, and the official size designation 13 1/4 × 17L.
The propeller is manufactured from ASTM A890-A4 duplex stainless steel using APC – Aerospace Precision Casting. The casting process provides high material density and physical strength, while the duplex steel's high chromium content contributes to high corrosion resistance in maritime environments.
The Star series is designed for 40–140 hp outboard motors with a 4 1/4″ gearcase. It is recommended for relevant engines from Yamaha, Selva, Mercury, Honda, and Tohatsu, and is comparable at a series level to Solas New Saturn and Solas Rubex NS3. This comparison is not a specific OEM part number.
The propeller uses an interchangeable hub and is supplied without the engine-specific hub/cushion kit. The correct kit must be ordered separately and selected based on engine make, engine model, gearcase, and the number of splines on the propeller shaft. Depending on the design, the hub kit includes a cushion, thrust washer, front spacer, spacer, and nut.
The Star version comes with an extra spacer for installation in front of the propeller. A documented exception applies to OMC/Johnson and 2-stroke Suzuki with a 13-spline shaft. Hub kit 52.581.02 is intended for selected Yamaha engines with a 4 1/4″ gearcase and 15 splines, while 52.585.02 is intended for documented Tohatsu/Nissan applications with the same gearcase size and spline count. The kit selection must always be verified against the specific engine.
The closest right-hand rotation variant with the same diameter and pitch is part no. 52.552.07. It has the opposite direction of rotation and therefore cannot be used as a direct replacement without checking the installation's rotation requirements.
