This Polastorm Stella 3-blade propeller in duplex stainless steel has a diameter of 14″, a pitch of 19″, and right-hand rotation. The propeller is designed for outboard motors and sterndrives with a 4¾″ gearcase and is used in conjunction with a separate, engine-specific hub kit.
The propeller is manufactured from ASTM A890-4A duplex stainless steel, which has high corrosion resistance for maritime use. The APC manufacturing process, Aerospace Precision Casting, results in a dense and physically strong casting. The 19″ pitch corresponds geometrically to 482.6 mm per theoretical propeller revolution before slip.
The Stella model has three blades and a large blade profile. The design is developed for good grip at low RPM, fast acceleration and planing, as well as stable control at low speed. The propeller geometry corresponds to the Solas New Saturn and Solas Rubex NS3.
The interchangeable Poleax hub system makes it possible to adapt the propeller to different engine shafts by selecting the correct hub kit. Hub, shock absorber, and mounting hardware are not included. The spline count is therefore not a fixed feature of the propeller, but is determined by the selected hub kit.
The propeller family is intended for engines from 115 hp with a 4¾″ gearcase and is recommended for engines in the 150–200 hp range. The final propeller selection must be matched to the engine's RPM range, gear ratio, boat type, load, and the correct engine-specific hub kit.
Engine-specific hub kits
For the 4¾″ system, available kits include, among others, hub kit 52.580.02 F21 for Mercury, 52.581.03 F23 for Yamaha, 52.582.06 F28 for BRP/Johnson/Evinrude, 52.583.02 F29 for Tohatsu/Nissan, and 52.586.01 F42 for Volvo. Select the hub kit according to the specific engine, shaft, and the required number of splines.
