Aluminum Anode for Driveshaft Housing, MerCruiser Bravo Drive - 821630Q1
Protect your MerCruiser Bravo drive from corrosion with this high-quality aluminum anode!
This anode is custom-made to fit your MerCruiser Bravo I, II, III, X, XR or XZ drive perfectly. It is designed to protect the drive from galvanic corrosion in both salt and fresh water.
Advantages:
-
Effective Protection: Protects your MerCruiser Bravo drive and engine from the damaging effects of galvanic corrosion.
-
Original quality: Manufactured to Mercury Marine's original specifications for optimal protection.
-
Cast aluminum: Large surface area for more effective corrosion control.
-
Stainless Steel Hardware: Comes with stainless steel mounting hardware for easy attachment to the bottom of the driveshaft housing.
-
Easy inspection and replacement: The anode is easy to inspect and replace as needed.
Why are anodes important?
Galvanic corrosion occurs when dissimilar metals are in contact with each other in an electrolytic environment (e.g. salt water). The anode "sacrifices" itself by corroding in place of the more valuable metal parts of your drive, thereby protecting the drive and motor from damage.
Replacement:
Inspect the anode regularly and replace it when it shows signs of significant corrosion. The frequency of replacement depends on the use of the boat and the salinity of the water.
