Quicksilver water pump impeller 47-42038Q02 is a genuine impeller for cooling water circulation in the water pump on select Mercury, Mariner, and Force outboard motors with a standard gearcase. The impeller has six blades made of black elastomer and helps protect the engine against overheating by maintaining the supply of cooling water.
The elastomer blades are designed to maintain flexibility across a wide temperature range. The center insert is bonded to the blades to resist separation and subsequent loss of water flow.
The impeller fits Mercury and Mariner 6-15 hp 2-stroke engines with a standard gearcase when the USA-assembled engine has serial number 0A197112 or higher, or the Belgium-assembled engine has serial number 9461526 or higher. It also fits Mercury and Mariner 8-9.9 hp 4-stroke engines up to and including model year 2004, and 15 hp 4-stroke engines up to and including model year 2008.
Documented Force compatibility includes 9.9 and 15 hp 2-stroke engines with a standard gearcase from model year 1998 and the serial number range 0E288000-0E344999. Always check the engine model, gearcase type, and serial number before ordering.
The impeller measures approximately 58.8 mm in outer diameter, 13 mm in inner diameter, and 11.7 mm in height. Part number 47-42038Q02 replaced previous numbers 47-420381 and 47-420382. The part has subsequently been replaced by Mercury number 47-42038K02.
