Quicksilver magnetic gear lube screw with gasket is a screw kit for the gear housing drain and fill hole on compatible Mercury and Mariner outboards and MerCruiser sterndrives. The kit consists of one magnetic screw and one premium sealing gasket and features 3/8-16 UNC threads.
The screw seals the gear housing opening and, together with the gasket, helps prevent gear oil leakage and water ingress. The integrated magnet collects ferrous wear particles in the gear oil, allowing the particles to be detected and removed during service.
The spare part fits all MerCruiser sterndrives as well as Mercury and Mariner outboards, with the exception of the Verado series, when the gear housing has a drain or fill hole with 3/8-16 UNC threads. Compatibility is specifically documented for MerCruiser I, R, MR, Alpha One, TR, and TRS. Always check the threads, engine or drive serial number, and the existing part number before ordering.
Quicksilver number 22-8M0058389 replaces the former OEM numbers 22-67892, 22-67892A1, 22-67892A05, 22-67892A06, 10-14834, and 10-14834A1. The included gasket must be used to ensure a proper seal during installation.
