This RAILBLAZA C-TUG kayak and canoe cart with Kiwi wheels is a dismountable transport cart for manually moving kayaks, canoes, dinghies, and other small vessels to and from the water. The puncture-proof Kiwi wheels feature a non-slip rubber tread and are designed for surfaces such as sand, gravel, grass, boat ramps, and uneven terrain.
The cart is assembled and disassembled without tools and can be taken apart in under 20 seconds. The crossbeams lock together with integrated locking pins, the wheels click onto the axles, and the two hull pads are mounted in their pivoting holders. The disassembled components can be stored in many kayak hatches, making the cart easy to take along on the water.
The separate hull pads can pivot and adapt to the vessel's hull profile. The pads feature UV-stabilized Santoprene elastomer, while the construction consists of, among other things, UV-stabilized ABS, acetal, nylon, reinforced composite, and stainless steel components. The steel-reinforced axles provide robust support for the wheels.
The total width is 644 mm, and the height is 314 mm. The distance across the outer sides of the hull pads is 485 mm, while the clear internal distance between the pads is 150.5 mm. The Kiwi wheels measure 262.4 mm in diameter and 91.4 mm in width, and the axle diameter is 25 mm.
The static load capacity is 120 kg. Capacity during transport depends on terrain and dynamic load. The vessel is secured with the included 2.8 m polyester strap and a die-cast aluminum buckle. The adjustable kickstand keeps the cart ready during loading and must face opposite the direction of travel during transport. The cart must only be pulled manually and must not be used for transporting persons or towed behind a vehicle or bicycle.
The scope of delivery consists of two crossbeams, two pivoting hull pads, two puncture-proof Kiwi wheels, an adjustable kickstand, and a strap kit. The strap kit includes a 1.2 m strap, a 1.6 m strap with a sewn-on metal buckle, and two 38 mm strap adjusters. The product is manufactured in New Zealand and has a 5-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
After use in saltwater, sand, or dusty environments, the wheels should be removed, the cart disassembled, and the parts rinsed thoroughly with fresh water. The axles should be kept free of sand and dirt, and solvent-based cleaning agents should be avoided. Prolonged storage in strong sunlight should also be avoided.
