This RAILBLAZA C-TUG R kayak and canoe trolley is the complete Kiwi wheel variant featuring adjustable hull rails. The trolley is designed for transporting kayaks and canoes and can be adapted to wide, profiled, and pontoon-like hull shapes. The static load capacity is 100 kg, while the practical load during transport depends on terrain, shocks, and incline.
The two 500 mm long hull rails can be adjusted to the hull profile and feature non-slip rubber pads that support the vessel without putting strain on scuppers or scupper holes. The inner clearance of the rails can be set from 202 to 328 mm, while the outer distance across the rails can be set from 242 to 368 mm. The correct placement makes it possible to balance the vessel and reduce the required pulling force.
The frame is made of reinforced polymer with UV-stabilized ABS, acetal plastic, nylon plastic, and UV-stabilized Santoprene elastomer. Axles and fasteners are reinforced with stainless steel. The assembled trolley has an overall width of 643 mm and a height of 380 mm, while the product weight is 4 kg.
The two solid Kiwi wheels are puncture-free and require neither air pressure nor inflation. The wheels' high-grip rubber tread is intended for gravel, slipways, concrete, and other solid surfaces, among others. The included pair of wheels has manufacturer number 50-0002-71.
The trolley can be assembled and disassembled in seconds without special tools during normal use. The crossbeams are assembled around the adjustable kickstand, the hull rails are set according to the hull, and the wheels are pushed onto the axles and locked with the axle pins. The disassembled construction can be stored in many kayak hatches. The kickstand must face backwards in the direction of pull so that it can fold away if it hits an obstacle.
The complete strap system consists of a 1.2 m strap and a 1.6 m strap with an aluminum buckle, corresponding to a total nominal strap length of 2.8 m. The straps are 38 mm wide and are supplemented by two strap locks. The delivery also includes two crossbeams, two hull rails with rail bases, two Kiwi wheels, a kickstand, and the necessary washers, bolts, and nuts.
The C-TUG R is intended for smaller watercraft and must not be used for transporting people, neither directly on the trolley nor sitting in the vessel. The Hobie Pro Angler and Hobie Outback are among the hull types that the adjustable rail system is developed to better support.
After use in saltwater, sand, or dust, the wheels should be removed, the chassis disassembled, and the axle areas rinsed thoroughly with fresh water. The axles must be clean and free of sand before the wheels are remounted. Avoid solvents, strong detergents, and prolonged storage in strong direct sunlight. The Kiwi version comes with a 5-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
