Raymarine RayMic wired remote station is an external handset for compatible fixed-mount Raymarine VHF radios. It connects to the radio’s secondary station port and provides access to the radio’s functions and display information from another operating position on board.
The RayMic features an LCD display, built-in microphone and speaker, and controls for PTT, channel selection, volume, and squelch. The handset also has a dedicated 16/+ button for priority channels, HI/LO transmit power selection, and a protected DISTRESS button for DSC emergency calls. The intercom function allows communication between the remote station and the main radio. Continuous transmission via PTT is limited to a maximum of five minutes to reduce the risk of accidentally blocking a VHF channel.
The wired handset has a fixed coiled cable that can be extended to approximately 1 m. The handset measures 151 mm in height and 66.9 mm in width. The maximum mounted dimensions are approximately 167.4 mm in height, 70 mm in width, and 46.7 mm in depth. Mounting is performed in a wall- or bulkhead-mounted cradle on a flat surface with space for removing the handset and routing the coiled cable.
When routing cables through a panel, a panel-mount feed-through with a 25 mm central mounting hole is used. Extension cables are not included and are selected based on the distance to the radio. Approved RayMic extension cables are available in 5 m (A80291), 10 m (A80292), and 15 m (A80290) lengths. The related item no. 29.720.07 is a 10 m extension cable for this remote station. The total cable length between the handset and the base station must not exceed 50 m.
The remote station is compatible with the Raymarine Ray60, Ray63, Ray70, Ray73, Ray90, and Ray91. The Ray60 and Ray70 support one external RayMic station, while the Ray90 and Ray91 can use up to two wired RayMic handsets. The handset software version must match the base station software to ensure proper operation.
The housing is rated to both IPX6 and IPX7. The operating temperature is −25 °C to +55 °C, and the storage temperature is −25 °C to +70 °C. The built-in speaker has a maximum output of 1 W at 16 Ω. The product is subject to WEEE regulations and must be disposed of as electronic waste.
