This RINA-approved ship's bell in polished brass is a manual acoustic signaling device with a nominal mouth diameter of 300 mm. It is intended for vessels over 20 m and can be used on both pleasure craft and in the merchant navy.
The bell is operated manually with the included clapper. The removable bayonet mount provides secure installation and also allows the bell to be removed from the bracket as needed.
The bell is made of brass according to UNI 5035 and has a mirror-polished surface. The nominal mouth diameter is 300 mm, while the technical manufacturer's diameter for model 2106A is specified as 305 mm.
Model 2106A, classified as type 2.106/A, delivers a sound pressure level of approximately 113 dB at a tone frequency of 1250 Hz. The design is intended for clear maritime sound signaling on larger vessels.
The type approval is linked to RINA certificate ELE215118CS and is based on requirements for maritime sound signaling equipment with reference to COLREG 1972. When used in an authority or classification case, the current certificate status should be confirmed before installation.
For pleasure craft, the RINA-certified gas-powered air horn, item no. 21.456.01, is documented as an alternative. This relationship does not apply as a general substitute for use in the merchant navy.
