This Riviera Artica Slim 2¾″ flush-mount compass is a magnetic marine compass for horizontal flush mounting in a dashboard or steering console. This version features a white housing and a flat, black compass card designed for top-down reading. This makes the compass suitable for placement below the user's normal line of sight.
The Artica Slim has a compact housing with an external diameter of 109 mm and an overall height of 106 mm. The visible compass card measures 70 mm and is graduated every 5°. A mounting depth of 55 mm is required below the mounting surface, while the lower installation housing has a diameter of 82 mm.
The compass features an internal semi-cardanic suspension and built-in, manually adjustable compensation. The transparent dome is made of polycarbonate and has an anti-glare screen. The construction is resistant to UV radiation, impact, scratches, oil, solvents, and typical marine weather conditions.
The integrated blue LED lighting connects to a 12 V system. The compass liquid is Shell Sol D70 with a documented stable temperature range from -30 °C to +60 °C. An elastic diaphragm compensates for liquid volume changes and prevents bubble formation within this temperature range.
The compass is designed for motorboats and sailboats of approximately 6-11 meters and can be used at both normal and high speeds. The mounting location should be placed as far as practically possible from magnetic fields and moving ferrous objects. The main cutout is Ø85 mm, but the supplied drilling template should be used, as the cutout also includes a lateral recess. After installation, the compass compensation should be performed by an authorized professional.
The compass is cleaned with a soft cloth dampened with fresh water. Filling plugs and other screws must not be loosened; only the compensator screws may be adjusted with a non-magnetic screwdriver. The product is manufactured in Italy and can be repaired by the manufacturer. The warranty period is 36 months from the production date stamped on the flange, according to the warranty terms.
