This product, Riviera IDRA compact boat compass, is a magnetic steering compass for navigation in motorboats and sailboats. This variant features a blue compass card, white housing, and bracket mount, and is designed for direct reading from the helm.
The internal semi-gimbal suspension stabilizes the compass card during the boat's movements. The card has a visible diameter of 3″ / 80 mm and is graduated in 5° intervals, allowing the heading to be read directly from the front.
The integrated LED night lighting connects to 12 V and makes the card readable in the dark. The compass's magnetic direction indication functions independently of the power supply; the 12 V connection is used for the lighting.
The IDRA series features built-in magnetic compensation and an anti-glare screen. The compass is designed to be serviceable and repairable and is manufactured in Italy.
The compass should be mounted as far as practically possible from magnetic fields and moving ferrous objects. Check the vessel's voltage before connecting the LED lighting, and have the compass compensated after installation to minimize the impact from the boat's magnetic environment.
