This Riviera Mizar hand-bearing compass with soft housing is a compact, magnetic marine compass for hand-bearing, navigation on small boats, and use as an emergency or backup compass. The blue Mizar variant features a black compass card, a fixed ring, and a visible compass card diameter of 1 7/8″.
The compass has direct front reading as well as top reading and is equipped with sighting marks for bearing. The compass card is liquid-damped, which stabilizes the display during movement, while the pivot/jewel bearing supports the free movement of the compass card.
The soft, impact-resistant housing is designed for handheld use in maritime environments. The floating construction means the compass will stay on the water's surface if dropped overboard. The included neck strap allows the compass to be carried securely and kept quickly accessible.
The Mizar measures 80 mm in height, 60 mm in width, and 23 mm in depth. It requires no fixed installation or electrical connection and can be used for hand-bearing on smaller vessels as well as for surfing and windsurfing.
