This Riviera hand-bearing compass with soft casing is the Orion model in a blue finish. The magnetic, portable compass is designed for handheld bearing and navigation on small boats, while surfing, or as an emergency and backup compass.
The compass can be read from both the front and above and features sighting lines for bearings. The Orion model is equipped with an external rotating bezel, allowing a chosen direction to be marked. The luminescent compass card displays cardinal and intercardinal directions and has a visible diameter of 1 7/8 inches, equivalent to approx. 48 mm.
The compass movement uses a needle/pivot suspension. The integrated soft casing is impact-resistant, and the compass is buoyant, making the design suitable for use near the water. The included neck strap keeps the compass accessible during sailing and other maritime activities.
