This Riviera Polare BP1 3″ bulkhead-mounted magnetic compass is designed for flush vertical mounting in a bulkhead or instrument panel. This variant features a black housing and a black compass card, and it can be used as a steering compass on both standard vessels and high-speed craft.
The compass has direct front reading, a visible 80 mm diameter compass card, and a 5° graduation scale. A red lubber line makes it easier to read the course, while the internal gimbal suspension stabilizes the compass during boat movement. The model also includes an inclinometer and built-in compensation options.
Integrated LED lighting allows for reading in the dark. The compass is fully repairable and made in Italy. A rear shroud and protective cover are included, and a spare cover for the Polare 3″ is available under item no. 25.020.20.
The front has an overall diameter of 138 mm, and the compass has a total depth of 104 mm. The depth behind the mounting surface is 62 mm, while the rear housing has a diameter of 114 mm. Installation requires a panel cutout of Ø116 mm as well as four Ø2.5 mm mounting holes on a Ø126 mm bolt circle.
The four mounting holes are positioned 90° apart and rotated 45° relative to the vertical and horizontal center lines of the panel. The front flange is removed before fastening and pressed back into place after installation. The model comes with a three-year manufacturer's warranty.
