Riviera Zenit 3″ flush-mount compass with telescopic anti-glare cover is a liquid-filled magnetic marine compass for horizontal, flush-mounted installation. This version features a flat, blue compass card, a grey housing, and direct reading. The compass is suitable for both low-speed boats and high-speed craft exceeding 25 knots.
The visible compass card measures 3″ / 80 mm and features 5° graduations, a red lubber line, and a jewel pivot bearing. Built-in manual compensation allows the compass to be adjusted after installation. The standard calibration is for geographic zone A.
The integrated 12 V LED lighting provides blue light for reading in the dark. The telescopic, wraparound cover protects the compass and also acts as an anti-glare shield when the compass is in use.
The compass has a maximum outer diameter of 152 mm and an overall height of 131 mm. The lower mounting housing is Ø89 mm, the installation depth is 65 mm, and the installation requires a cutout of Ø95 mm. The installation site must be chosen as far as possible from magnetic fields and movable ferrous objects.
The compass fluid is Shell Sol D/70, and an elastic diaphragm compensates for changes in fluid volume in the temperature range of −30 °C to +60 °C. Filling plugs and screws must not be loosened. After installation, the compass must be compensated by a qualified professional.
The compass is manufactured in Italy and is designed to be repairable. It should be cleaned with a soft cloth dampened with fresh water. The series is type-certified according to the MED Directive 2014/90/EU, but an individual MED certificate is only included if ordered together with the compass.
